National Training Program Participant

The Association for Promotion of Cultures “Kulturtreger” (Booksa) completed a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2014 to support improvements to its facilities, which included a new sound system and installation of air-conditioning. The organization ultimately exceeded its original campaign goal by 11 percent. As a participant in the DeVos Institute’s two-year National Arts Management Intensive in Croatia, Booksa embraced the concept of institutional marketing, the creative use of organizational assets to create spikes in awareness of the organization, as well as the people and process behind its art. In addition to its successful crowdfunding campaign, between 2013 and 2015 Booksa also tripled its membership, increased its earned revenue by 40 percent, and drew 30 percent more attendees to its events.
